Kai Tak airport was constructed in 1925. In 1954 its location was replaced and till 1998 it was known as Hong Kong International Airport. Hong Kong had 3 main airlines named Cathay Pacific (International), Air Hong Kong and Hong Kong airways. Kai Tak airport is jutting out into the sea and on the nortern side it is surrounded by a number of sky scrappers which makes landing and take off very difficult from that direction.
