St Bart is a French Island in Carribean sea with an area of 21 sq km. The main source of revenue of this island is tourism. The capital of St Bart is Gustavia and is also the main harbor of this island. Gustaf III airport is located in St Jean and is also known as St Bart Airport or St Jean airport.
Generally 20 seater aircrafts operate on this airport and most of the air traffic is from West Indies. The short airstrip is at the base of a gentle slope ending directly on the beach. The arrival descent is extremely steep over the hilltop traffic circle and departing planes fly right over the heads of sunbathers. Although there are sign boards for the sun bathers that they should not lie directly at the short finals of the runway. This airport is considered as one of the World's dangerous one but there had been very few accidents maybe because of the reason that pilots are extremely careful.
